Who runs Quiet Army
Quiet Army is a community project run by an individual based in London, United Kingdom. It is not a registered charity. Each mission is delivered with a partner organisation named on the mission page. Contact: quietarmy.org@gmail.com.
What a contribution is
When you back a mission, you make a voluntary gift towards the items described on the mission page. You are not buying anything for yourself and you receive no goods or services in return. Your name appears on the mission's Wall in the form you chose.
Card fees
Card payments are processed by Stripe, which charges a fee on every payment. By default that fee comes out of your gift. You can choose to add it on top so your full amount reaches the mission. Fees are shown per payment in each mission's public ledger. Quiet Army never pays its running costs from contributions.
If a mission does not fill
If a mission doesn't reach its goal, we either deliver a smaller amount of the same items or, if that isn't practical, move the money to the next mission. Either way it is shown in the public ledger, and you can ask for a refund instead (see below).
Refunds
- You can ask for a refund within 14 days of your contribution, as long as the money for that mission has not yet been spent on items. Email us with the email address you paid with.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with. Stripe does not return its card fee when a payment is refunded, so the refund is the amount that reached the mission after that fee.
- If we ever take a payment by mistake, or a payment is duplicated, we refund it in full.
- When you are refunded, your name is removed from the Wall and the totals.
Votes and membership
Member numbers, ranks, badges and votes are for fun and to give backers a say. They are not shares, securities or a promise of anything. The vote decides the next mission; in the rare case the winning option can't be delivered safely or legally, we say so and run the runner-up.
Your conduct
Don't use offensive or impersonating names on the Wall. We may change or hide any name that breaks this.
Liability
We do our best to deliver every mission as described and to publish accurate records. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under UK law.
